NEW IN 2025 – 35KM RECREATIONAL RIDE

To allow even more people to enjoy this amazing event we have created a 35km Recreational Ride for those who don’t want the stress of racing or having to climb Quaid Rd at the start. We will provide free shuttles to the top of the climb and the start line of the new Recreational Ride. The Race will start at 9:30am and the Recreational Riders will cheer the riders as they pass the KOM/QOM point of their race. Then it’s time for the start of the Recreational Ride as they start on the flat and make their way to the finish line on Four Mile Beach.

The Hartley’s to Port MTB Race provides those who like to ride on the dirt instead of the road an opportunity to get involved. It’s only a short and sharp race to see who gets bragging rights to be the winners of our 3rd addition of the Hartley’s to Port.

The race will start from the front doors of Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures in Wangetti on Sat 13 Sept, with the first 5km’s of the course heading straight up Quaid Road with an average gradient of over 8.5%! This will sort out those who will be vying for the win and those who are just there to have a great ride through the rainforest. Quaid Road was built many years ago as a private road and we are thrilled that the owners of this road have allowed us to use it for this race.

Who will take out the title of King of the Mountain (KOM) & Queen of the Mountain (QOM) and win a GIANT floor pump valued at $84.95?

First three male and female riders who cross the finish line on Four Mile Beach (excluding e-Bikes)

ENTER THE FOUR MILE BEACH MTB SPRINT!


Just as the last riders are crossing the line for the finish of the Hartley’s to Port MTB Race the Four Mile Beach MTB Sprint will kick off.

So why not enter this race as well? It will be the first event of its kind held anywhere in the world! A 250mtr MTB drag race along the sands of Four Mile Beach.

PLUS, it’s normally $30 $15 to enter but if you’ve also entered the Hartley’s to Port MTB Race it’s only $15 $7.50!

  • Insurance: Rider insurance is compulsory for this event. If you do not have a current AusCycling membership, an $8 fee will apply. Please note that your entry does not include any insurance for bikes and accessories. It is recommended that individuals consider their own insurance.
  • Do you need bike & rider transfers? As you enter you will be given four transfer options:
    1. Port Douglas to Start – Departing from Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina carpark at 8:30am SHARP – Cost: $40
    2. Palm Cove to Start – Departing from the Palm Cove Jetty carpark at 8:30am SHARP – Cost: $40
    3. Port Douglas back to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures departing from the Port Douglas Surf Club at 2:00pm SHARP – Cost: $40
    4. Port Douglas back to the Palm Cove Jetty carpark departing from the Port Douglas Surf Club at 2:00pm SHARP – Cost: $60

    NOTE: Transfers cannot be purchased individually for only the rider or only the bike. If family or friends wish to travel with you they will need to book their bus transfer directly with Exemplar
